THURSDAY EVENING:
Gradual Clearing
Temperatures: 60s to 50s
Winds: North 5-10 mph
Skies will gradually clear through the evening as cooler and much drier air settles overhead. Temperatures are set to fall through the 50s after sunset with a light north to northwest breeze.
THURSDAY NIGHT:
Mainly Clear
Lows: 42-50
Winds: Northwest 5 mph
Overnight temperatures will dip into the 40s in and around D.C., with some 30s possible in the colder outlying valleys west of the metro area. Skies become mainly clear with lighter winds. Frost and freeze conditions are possible in portions of the Alleghenies by early morning, a frost advisory has been posted for Garrett County.
FRIDAY:
Sunny to Partly Cloudy
Highs: 68-73
Winds: West 5-15 mph
Beautiful spring weather wraps up the work and school week. After a chilly start in the 40s, high temperatures will climb to around 70 degrees. Low humidity, a refreshing breeze, and sunshine will make for really nice weather to be outdoors. Clouds will increase during the late afternoon and evening hours; however, no rain is expected.
SATURDAY:
Mostly Cloudy, Showers Possible
Highs: 70-75
Winds: Southwest 10-20 mph
Saturday turns milder as winds shift around from the south and southwest. Temperatures climb into the lower to middle 70s during the afternoon with a mix of clouds and filtered sunshine. Most of the day looks dry, although a few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms could develop later in the afternoon or evening as the next weather system approaches from the west. At this point, any storm activity appears scattered and limited, but a brief downpour or rumble of thunder cannot be ruled out.
SUNDAY:
Increasing Clouds
Evening Showers
Highs: 80-85
Winds: Southwest 10-15 mph
Mother鈥檚 Day looks more unsettled as another cold front approaches the Mid-Atlantic. Temperatures still reach the 70s during the afternoon, but clouds will increase with periods of showers becoming more likely through the day and especially into the evening hours. A few thunderstorms are also possible Sunday afternoon and evening as the front moves closer to the region. It will not be an all day washout, but outdoor brunches, garden parties, and evening plans may need weather backups nearby.
MONDAY:
Partly Sunny, Breezy
Highs: around 65
Winds: North 10-20 mph
Monday turns cooler again behind the departing cold front. A few lingering showers may still be around early in the morning, but conditions gradually trend drier through the afternoon as cooler air pours across the area. Northwest winds increase to around 10 to 20 mph at times, adding an extra chill to the air despite highs reaching the 60s. It will feel much different compared to the milder weekend, with another stretch of below normal temperatures expected to settle in early next week.
