WASHINGTON — The long legal fight over the Alexandria waterfront plan has led to another victory for the city.
Virginia鈥檚 Supreme Court on Friday ruled that the Alexandria City Council鈥檚 decision to take a second vote on the waterfront plan to get a so-called 鈥渟upermajority鈥 made moot much of the appeal from some Alexandria residents who are against how part of the plan was being considered.
The group that has been fighting many of the city鈥檚 plans, Friends of the Alexandria Waterfront, says in a statement that it is disappointed in Friday鈥檚 ruling.
They say they simply want to be heard as part of the process, and will 鈥渃ontinue to advocate for sensible development鈥.
