WASHINGTON 鈥� If you鈥檙e just not ready to give up on summer quite yet, don’t miss the , which for the first time will feature a pot-growing contest.
The fair, in its sixth year, is from noon until 8 p.m. Saturday at the Old City Farm & Guild located at 925 Rhode Island Ave. NW.
The fair features, among other things, the first in the nation marijuana-growing contest. Fifty-six people registered to compete in the much-buzzed-about contest, called聽the聽Best Bud Contest.
Foodie and food attorney, Mary Beth Albright says the fair also features urban agriculture, including a seminar on edible landscaping.
Also, there鈥檚 plenty of food to sample from local bakers and candy makers, as well as fresh vegetables. But if you鈥檙e looking for some of the oddest veggies out there, there鈥檚 a weirdest and biggest vegetable contest.
Also, there is a pet look alike contest and a pet parade.
