WASHINGTON 鈥斅燚.C. police have arrested multiple suspects, one as young as 12 years old, in a number of robberies around the District from this past week.
A 12-year-old boy of Northeast D.C., a 13-year-old boy of Southeast D.C. and a 14-year-old boy also of Southeast D.C. were arrested for a July 30 robbery in the 700 block of North Capitol Street Northeast. There, they approached a man around 4 p.m., took his cellphone and assaulted him. The three young suspects聽were arrested the same day.
Lepierre Clemens, 18, of Southeast D.C. was arrested for an聽Aug. 1 robbery with assault that took place in the 5100 block of D Street Southeast. Clemens, along with another suspect, approached a woman around 10 a.m., assaulted her and took her property. Clemens was arrested the same day.
A 13-year-old boy of Northwest D.C. was arrested Aug. 2 for an attempt to commit robbery on聽18th聽Street Northwest. Another boy, 14, of Northwest D.C. was arrested Aug. 4 for a robbery in the 7000 block of Eastern Avenue Northwest. In both cases, police report that a gun was involved in the incidents.
Finally,聽Errol Martin, 18, of Northeast D.C. and a 15-year-old boy of Southeast D.C. were arrested Aug. 2 for an armed robbery with a knife that took place July 27 in the 1500 block of 19th Street Southeast. The two suspects approached a man around 5 p.m., showed a knife and searched the victim’s pockets. They took his debit card and聽got the pin number from the victim.
