WASHINGTON —  inside the White House Thursday, and outside the famous residence was a flurry of activity, too as crowds gathered to protest or catch a glimpse of the billionaire.

Before and after the meeting between Obama and Trump, tourists milled around on Pennsylvania Avenue to get a glimpse of the Executive Mansion. What was mostly a quiet afternoon outside the White House included intermittent, enthusiastic protests.

The meeting between the president and the president-elect was supposed to be brief, but ended up lasting more than an hour while the pair discussed the transition of power.
