WASHINGTON — Firefighters battled a huge apartment fire in Northwest D.C. Saturday morning.

The blaze tore through a four-story building in the 1300 block of Peabody Street near Walmart around 3 a.m.

Dramatic video from D.C. Fire and EMS showed authorities rescuing residents, helping them through windows and down ladders.

Flames can be seen shooting through the roof.

Over 150 firefighters responded to the fiery emergency.

Four people were treated at the scene. One person was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries. A total of six people were injured.

Five firefighters were also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The National Capitol Region Red Cross was also on the scene to assist residents — more than 200 of whom were displaced.

The Red Cross is seeking donations.
