Md. boy, 12, found unharmed after Amber Alert

The 12-year-old boy who had been the subject of an Amber Alert in Maryland has been found unharmed.

The boy’s father, Christopher Geiger, picked him up from school in Carroll County Friday afternoon and was supposed to bring him back to school Monday morning, the Maryland State Police said Tuesday.

His mother reported the boy missing to the police.

Early Monday evening, police found a vehicle — a black Jeep Wrangler associated with Christopher Geiger — in a farmer’s field off of Dorothy Avenue near Carroll Community College. About 15 hours later, police found the two — along with the family dog — in a shed about a half-mile away. After about a half-hour of conversation with crisis negotiators, the police said, they were all taken into custody.

No one was hurt.

Christopher Geiger has been taken into custody for a medical evaluation and charges are pending.
