NEW YORK (AP) 鈥� After writing bestsellers about the military, the oil and gas industry and the state of democracy, is now working on a history of the
Crown, a division of Penguin Random House, announced Monday that 鈥淒epartment of Fate鈥� will be published Nov. 10, one week after this year’s midterm elections, and offer 鈥渂oth a diagnosis and a prescription for the American institution.鈥�
鈥淎s goes DOJ, so goes the republic,鈥� the liberal author, podcaster and MS Now host said in a statement issued through Crown. 鈥淲hat DOJ chooses to pursue 鈥� and what it lets go 鈥� can determine the boundaries of our political rights, our economy, and the fundamental question of whether the protections written into our Constitution are just words, or real life.鈥�
According to Crown, Maddow will trace 鈥渢riumphs and misdeeds鈥� over the department’s 150-year history, from 鈥渢he riotous chaos of the Red Scare鈥� after World War I to 鈥渃abinet scandals that make Watergate look like Mr. Rogers鈥� Neighborhood鈥� and the upending of a wide range of norms during the second administration of
