WASHINGTON – More traffic cameras are coming to D.C., but they won’t be for speeders or red-light runners.
Within the next several months, D.C. police will start using cameras to issue tickets for running a stop sign.
The fine will will be $50, and only 24 cameras will be used initially due to cost. They’ll be placed around schools.
D.C. also plans to use cameras to ticket drivers for blocking intersections and failing to yield to pedestrians. Those fines will be $100 and $250, respectively.
