Answer Desk: What happens to water restriction violators?

WASHINGTON – Water restrictions remain in effect for 1.8 million Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission customers. But what happens to violators?

While the WSSC says they’re not peeking into anyone’s home to check on usage, too much running water can be a red flag.

Violators can get anything from a warning to a $500 fine. And customers have been fined in the past.

The WSSC tells 小萝莉影视 that the more water consumed, the longer the restrictions will last.

The restrictions are designed to keep water pressure up at fire hydrants and hospitals until the system recovers from the millions of gallons lost from the water main break.
