WASHINGTON —聽 Maryland’s Governor-elect Larry Hogan and Charlie Baker, who was just sworn in as the 72nd governor of Massachusetts last week, challenged each other to a friendly playoff-game wager on Saturday involving local delicacies.
If the New England Patriots won the playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens, Governor-elect Hogan would have to send a bushel of Maryland blue crabs seasoned with Old Bay to Baker. In turn,聽 if the Ravens won, Baker was to send Boston cream cupcakes from a local bakery and a case of Boston-brewed beers to Hogan.
鈥淚 am looking forward to a Ravens victory鈥攁nd one of those delicious Boston cream cupcakes,鈥 said Governor-elect Hogan, who will be sworn in as Maryland鈥檚 62nd governor on January 21. However, now he will only be eating his words and聽 sending a bushel of Maryland’s finest up north.
The Patriots beat the Ravens 35-31.
