WASHINGTON 鈥 鈥淭he Price Is Right鈥 is in its 45th聽season, so it鈥檚 hard to believe anything could happen for the first time on the iconic game show. But on Monday, three contestants shared in an unprecedented trifecta.
Twice per show, three prizewinning contestants each spin a wheel with various amounts on it, hoping to come as close as possible in two spins to the magic $1 without going over. Getting the highest total gets you on the show-ending Showcase Showdown; totaling $1 exactly wins you $1,000 鈥 and another shot at the wheel.
Once in a great while, two of the three contestants will hit $1 precisely, host Drew Carey said; on Monday, all three struck gold. They freaked out suitably, and CBS 小萝莉影视 reported later that it was the first such tie in the history of the show.
On the extra spin, one of the contestants missed hitting the 15-cent zone, which would have won him $10,000, by one spot.
You can see the entire episode on ; the spins begin at about the 13-minute mark.
