WASHINGTON 鈥� Commuters on Route 50 in Loudoun County are being encouraged to find another way home Monday evening.
Route 50 is expected to remain closed between Loudoun County Parkway and Gum Spring Road through the end of the afternoon rush hour, the Loudoun County Sheriff鈥檚 Office said.
An oversized vehicle hit the overhead power lines near Pinebrook Road around 10:45 a.m., Supervisor Matt Letourneau said in a message to constituents.
鈥淭his afternoon’s commute will be extremely difficult. With 50 being closed, we expect major delays on alternative routes like Tall Cedars Parkway and Braddock Road,鈥� Letourneau said.
