WASHINGTON — The Nationals are having a record-setting game against the聽Milwaukee Brewers Thursday.
The Nats tied Major League Baseball records for home runs in an inning (five) and consecutive home runs in an inning (four) in the bottom of the third. The four consecutive home runs were also a team record.
After starting pitcher Max Scherzer walked to lead of the third inning, Brian Goodwin started off the home run barrage, followed by Wilmer Difo, then Bryce Harper (his second of the game) and Ryan Zimmerman. After Daniel Murphy flew out, Anthony Rendon hit the team鈥檚 fifth home run of the inning for Washington.
This is the 18th game this season in which the Nationals have scored 10 or more runs in a game — the most in MLB, the Nationals said.
The Nationals are the eighth team in MLB history to hit four consecutive home runs.
