Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., said that the death of Iran鈥檚 Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is creating uncertainty about the trajectory of the conflict.
鈥淲e have had very little visibility into what happens next after the supreme leader is eliminated,鈥� Warner told CNN on Sunday. 鈥淚 think we still don鈥檛 know what is happening next.鈥�
Warner said he hoped the Iranian people would rise up, but he didn鈥檛 believe that would be the outcome. He said the fear is that the U.S. is seeing the 鈥渙pening salvos鈥� of 鈥渨hat could be a sustained war in the region.鈥�
