2024 Blossom Kite Festival takes flight: ‘I think everyone should come at least once’

The 2024 Blossom Kite Festival took to the skies on the National Mall on Saturday.

The tradition has been drawing visitors from far-and-wide to the National Monument grounds for over 50 years.

Katie Wechsler says this is her third year at the festival. She brought her seven- and nine-year-olds to join in on the fun. 鈥淲e live in DC, and we love that we can easily get down here and love that they do this event every year. The festival is welcome to kite enthusiasts, beginners and everything in between. Velen Fernandez brought her family out for the first time. 鈥淚t鈥檚 amazing. I think everyone should come at least once,鈥� Fernandez said. (小萝莉影视/Grace Newton)

And if you鈥檙e not in the mood to fly a kite, the festival features various other activities including musical performances, face painting and competitions. Kate Easton of Fairfax says after experiencing her first festival, she鈥檚 excited to come back next year. (小萝莉影视/Grace Newton)
