PHOTOS: Crowds gather at Black Lives Matter Plaza on election night

People gathered around Black Lives Matter Plaza on Tuesday, rallying and waiting for election results throughout the evening. Groups such as Shutdown DC and Black Lives Matter DC encouraged people to come out, although the event was not a coordinated protest.

The protests continued into early Wednesday morning.
